Churro Bundt Cake with Chocolate Dip: A simple solution to fill your churro con chocolate craving.
I love churros con chocolate! I think I fell fast in love my summer in Spain and I crave them all the time! I’ve watched tutorials, I’ve read thousands of recipes, but something about making churros myself is a little intimidating. So I found the perfect solution!
Ingredients
- 3 c cake flour
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 c butter, softened
- 3 c sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 3 t vanilla
- 1 c sour cream
- Topping:
- 1/2 c sugar
- 3 t cinnamon
- 6 T melted butter
- Chocolate:
- 2 c chocolate chips
- 1/2 c heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Thoroughly spray a 10-12 cup bundt pan with baking spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda and cinnamon; set aside.
- In mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time and then the vanilla.
- Add 1/3 of the flour mixture to the mixer, then 1/2 of the sour cream.
- Repeat, scraping sides of the bowl as needed, ending with flour.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top so it's even.
- Bake thoroughly for 1 hour, or until a knife is inserted into the center and comes out clean.
- Place the pan on a cooling rack for about 20 minutes.
- Carefully turn out onto the rack and finish cooling.
- As the cake cools, combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
- Brush the cake with the melted butter and rub the cinnamon sugar over the surface of the cake.
Churro bundt cake curbs my craving! It is so simple to create: just mix up the batter, load the bundt and wait! Then brush the cake with butter and rub cinnamon and sugar over the finished surface. I even found a simple recipe for chocolate dip if you need something to dip it with.
I wasn’t sure my family would buy my simple churro replacement but it disappeared as quickly as would any churro.
So give it a try! I know you’ll love it.
