Quick and Easy Honey Garlic Shrimp: rich flavorful shrimp marinated in a delicious honey garlic sauce.
I love changing things up a bit! Chicken is always easy to make and usually something I have on hand, but shrimp, now that’s a different story. This recipe is seriously so quick and easy, but the flavor is explosive!
Ingredients
- 1/3 c honey
- 1/4 c soy sauce (reduced sodium)
- 1 T minced garlic
- 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled and detailed (optional)
- 2 t olive oil
- optional: green onion for garnish
Instructions
- Whisk the honey, soy sauce and garlic together in a medium bowl.
- Place shrimp in a large zip-lock bag or tupperware.
- Pour half of the marinade mixture on top, give it all a shake or a stir, then allow shrimp to marinade for 15 min up to 8 hours.
- Cover and refrigerate the rest of the marinade for the final step.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place shrimp in the skillet and discard used marinade.
- Cook shrimp on one side until no longer pink- about 45 seconds- then flip shrimp over.
- Pour in the remaining/saved marinade and cook until shrimp is cooked through, about 1 minute more.
- Serve the shrimp with cooked marinade sauce and a garnish of green onions.
- You can serve with brown rice and veggies.

Honey garlic shrimp is something that my whole family will eat. It really is simple to prep and cook, a meal for the books. Whenever I introduce a new meal to my family I am always a little hesitant. Who doesn’t love change? But sometimes my kids reaction to the change is what makes me stick to my original, go to recipes. This recipe though is one that everyone ate!
I always get nervous feeding shrimp to kids just because of the tails. The recipe says you can leave them on, but because of my small children I took them off before serving them. They loved every bite!
